The three-day conference “Academic–Industry–Government Collaboration in Advancing Vocational and Applied Education” brought together government officials, education and industry leaders and international experts to explore how universities of applied sciences can foster cross-sector synergies to drive innovation and nurture talent.

HKMU presented its mission and vision, focus on applied sciences and unique strengths to over 3,000 education leaders, experts and scholars from around the world at the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) 2026 Conference and Exhibition. The event also provided an opportunity to explore potential partnerships with international institutions and enterprises.

The School of Education and Languages of HKMU co-organised a symposium with Heep Hong Society to foster in-depth discussions on the Ordinance, which took effect in January. More than 360 frontline professionals, students and parents took part in the event, which aimed to harness concerted efforts to strengthen the safety net for children.

The Research Institute for Bilingual Learning and Teaching at HKMU hosted an international symposium titled “Transforming TESOL Teacher Education: Humanistic Approaches to Technology and Pedagogy”. The symposium focused on exploring technology integration to advance the teaching of English to speakers of other languages and foster teacher well-being.
