HKMU confers Honorary University Fellowships on three outstanding individuals

HKMU awarded honorary fellowships to Ms Chan Man-chong, Dr John Leung Lai-yin and Father John Wotherspoon in recognition of their remarkable contributions to society and to the development of the University.

Ranked 393rd in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026: a leap of over 140 places into Asia’s Top 400

HKMU was ranked 393rd in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, placing it among Asia’s top 400 universities. Earlier this year, it also debuted in the QS World University Rankings 2026, ranking in the 781–790 range – a first for Hong Kong’s self-financing institutions and universities of applied sciences.

Sixteen scholars recognised among the world's top 2% most-cited scientists

Sixteen HKMU scholars were listed in Stanford University’s recently announced “World’s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists”, highlighting the strong recognition of HKMU scholars in the global academic community and their research achievements.

Using technology to enhance travel safety and crop harvesting in China’s “hometown of lychees”

Students and faculty from the Department of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science in the School of Science and Technology visited Maoming, Guangdong, where they installed solar-powered lampposts for village safety and developed agricultural technologies to improve crop harvesting efficiency, supporting the country’s rural revitalisation strategy.

Inaugural student service fair showcases student contributions 

The two-day Student Service Fair, themed “Serving to understand yourself”, showcased students’ diverse service achievements and raised awareness of pressing social and global issues while inspiring the HKMU community to contribute to society.

Promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with new campus facilities

HKMU introduced several new campus facilities this year to create a more friendly and harmonious environment that promotes the values of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
