The ceremony, held on 9 June, marked the official commencement of the new campus development project. The new complex, located near the HKMU Main Campus, will serve as a teaching and research base for HKMU to nurture outstanding professionals for Hong Kong and the nation and advance interdisciplinary education. It will also be a vital platform for the University to promote community health education and services.

The dinner attracted about 180 guests including Chinese Mainland and HKSAR government officials, institutional partners and alumni. The University shared its latest development blueprint and introduced the Alumni Donation Matching Scheme — the “Turn $1 to $3” Campaign — to support outreach activities in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland while strengthening alumni connections.

The newly established HKMU Chinese Orchestra made its debut at the University’s cultural event, titled “Chinese Strings Hum Operatic Rhymes; Scholarly Spirits Cradle the Stage”. It delighted the audience with joyful melodies, followed by a book launch promoting Cantonese opera.
